ProtectHear® appears in the Grimsby Telegraph

We were fortunate enough to get a write-up in the Grimsby Telegraph this month.

Our recent growth aspirations have become a plan in action as we enhance our resource so that we can continue to look after our customer base, both old and new.

It was great to see our personally moulded earplugs in print, as well as our new staff members who are part of the furniture already, even after such a short time.

ProtectHear® Joins the Rail Alliance

We’re proud of our membership of the Rail Alliance. Having supplied ProtectHear® hearing protection to major clients in the rail industry for a number of years, we felt the alliance was a good opportunity to share the benefits and get feedback about the work we are doing in terms of innovation and quality in the hearing protection sector.

Hearing protection rail industry

The alliance specialises in collaboration in the rail industry, and they provide impartial information and advice on a variety of areas. The rail industry incorporates a wide range of work where its employees are exposed to various noise levels, and our work, for example, at Network Rail saw us specifying hearing protection that meant track workers could be safely protected, but also still hear oncoming trains or other hazards.  The benefits to them were apparent and we are pleased to be involved with them.

ProtectHear® hearing protection has the following benefits:

  • Hear speech, shouted warnings and alarms whilst being protected
  • Does not over-protect
  • Has a life span of 5 years
  • Very comfortable and easy to clean
  • The ability to hard-wire connect to personal radios or bluetooth headsets
  • Can be worn with all other PPE
  • Eco-Friendly, 1 pair of ProtectHear® against 4800 disposables over 5 years

Louth, Lincolnshire, 2nd February 2015 –
ProtectHear® today officially announced their strategic growth plan in order to cope with demand and expand the business. Known for innovation and leadership in the hearing protection equipment market, the Louth business has been busy making major changes that are leading to an extremely positive future.

The company manufacturers a range of personally moulded earplugs, designed to offer the highest degree of comfort whilst proving an effective acoustic barrier helping to prevent Noise Induced Hearing loss (NIHL) which is an important issue in industrial and manufacturing environments.  Clients include Network Rail, Weetabix, Kellogg’s, Phillips66 and Tata Steel UK.

Plans announced so far include a brand new cloud-based IT solution to streamline and integrate Sales, Marketing, Finance and Production, and a personnel growth strategy which has begun with the appointment of two new apprentices and an Area Sales Representative Richard Farnhill covering West Yorkshire.

Bonita Poole joins as an Apprentice in Credit Control, and Kieran Towse as Sales and Marketing Administration. Both 19 year old Apprentices are from the area and were sourced with the help of the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS).

The company has also sourced local resource with the help of the government funded Growth Accelerator scheme which makes it easier for businesses with the ambition, capability and capacity to improve and grow, as well as bringing in outside expertise in Marketing and Business Development.

Speaking about the plans, Managing Director Mick Whitaker said: “We have literally reviewed the entire business.  Our ethos has always been to look after our customers, and this won’t change; the people, process and technology developments have simply been made so that we can continue to delight our existing loyal customer base and manage enquiries from new clients. These are very exciting times and we look forward to making more announcements this year.”

Vented and Solid Moulded Earplugs – Explained!

ProtectHear® personally moulded earplugs are available with two key differences that offer the user clear benefits in terms of the level of hearing protection afforded to them and their perception of the environment around them, this is simply achieved by choosing either a vented or solid moulded earplug design.

Work Safer and Hear your Environment!

To work safely and effectively it is important that we are aware of what is going on around us. ProtectHear® uses its unique vented design to achieve this by allowing air to pass through it carrying the external noise as sound waves before entering a passive acoustic filter. This filter then attenuates or reduces the external noise to a safe level whilst crucially still allowing the user to hear speech, warning signals and important machinery in their workplace environment.

molded earplugsSolid Dependability!

Solid earplugs have no vent in their construction and therefore will not allow air or external noise to pass directly through the earplug. It is advisable to bear in mind that a solid design could potentially reduce the user’s ability to hear their surroundings further. However solid earplugs will afford a far higher degree of hearing protection (attenuation) and are perfect for use in extremely noisy settings where communication and environmental awareness is already impaired, offering the user a comfortable and dependable solution.
